Community Guidelines

Kind, clean and anonymous — for every parent and every child.

MyKidIsBad is a place for parents to be honest about the hard days and to help each other through them. These guidelines exist so every parent feels safe here — the person who shares, and the person who replies.

Be kind

Assume the best in each other. No bullying, shaming, name-calling or put-downs — about another parent, their child, or their choices. You can disagree with a method without judging the person.

Try: "We struggled with that too — what helped us was…"
Not: "You're doing it all wrong."

No fighting

No arguments, threats, hostility, sarcasm aimed at a person, or picking fights. If a thread gets heated, step away and report it — we'll handle it.

Keep it clean

No cursing (including masked versions like "f*ck"), slurs, hate speech, sexual content or graphic violence. This is a family space.

Stay anonymous

Never share real names, your child's school, your city or address, phone numbers, emails, social handles or links. Never post photos of children.

Share, don't prescribe

Tell your story and what worked for you. We're parents, not doctors — don't diagnose, advise on medication, or contradict a child's professional care.

Safety comes first

If a child may be in danger or you're in crisis, contact local emergency services. In the U.S. you can call or text 988 at any time. Community replies are not a substitute for help.

How moderation works

  • Before you post. A friendly checker reads your text and tells you exactly what to change. Nothing is posted until it passes, and nothing is silently deleted.
  • Stories are reviewed before they appear in the Hub.
  • Anyone can report a story, reply or comment. Three separate reports hide it right away while a moderator reviews it.
  • Enforcement is gentle but firm. Removed content comes with a notice. Repeated issues earn strikes; three strikes in 30 days pause posting for 24 hours, five for 7 days, and eight for 30 days. Serious or dangerous behavior can end an account.
  • Reading is always free and stays available even if posting is paused.

What we don't allow

  • Bullying, harassment, shaming or targeting of any parent or child
  • Judging another family’s choices about diagnosis, therapy, medication, schooling or accommodations, or pushing unproven “cures,” supplements or miracle treatments. Every child and family is different — share what worked for you, and let doctors guide treatment.
  • Profanity, slurs and hate speech
  • Threats, fighting or encouraging violence, including "joking" ones
  • Sexual or adult content; content that endangers children
  • Personal information (yours, your child's, or anyone else's), links and contact details
  • Spam, ads, selling, or repeated copy-pasted posts
  • Medical, legal or dangerous advice presented as fact
  • Impersonation and attempts to get around these rules
