Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information MyKidIsBad.com (the "Service") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We don't sell your data.

Information we collect

  • Quiz answers and child's age range — what you enter when taking a test, used to score your results and generate your report.
  • Email address — only if you choose to save a report or contact us. Not required to take a test.
  • Payment information — handled entirely by PayPal. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and a payer email if PayPal provides one; we never see or store your card or bank details.
  • Technical and usage data — page visited, referring site, a hashed version of your IP address (not the IP itself), a coarse device type (mobile/tablet/desktop), and a random visitor ID stored in a cookie. This is self-hosted analytics we run ourselves — we don't use third-party ad trackers.

How we use it

  • To score your quiz and generate your personalized report.
  • To process payments and unlock paid content.
  • To email you a saved report, if you ask us to.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it (aggregate analytics only).
  • To respond if you contact us.

Third parties we use

We rely on a small number of service providers to run the Service:

  • PayPal — processes payments. See PayPal's own privacy policy for how they handle your payment data.
  • Anthropic (Claude AI) — your quiz answers are sent to Anthropic's API to generate the written explanation and action plan in your report. We don't send your email address or payment details to Anthropic.
  • Our email/SMTP provider — used only if you ask us to email you a saved report link.

Cookies

We use a small number of first-party cookies: a random visitor ID (for our own self-hosted analytics) and, for site administrators only, a login session cookie. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Data retention

Free and unlocked reports are automatically deleted after 48 hours unless you save them by entering your email, in which case we keep the report until you ask us to delete it. Anonymous/aggregate analytics data is retained only as long as needed for the purposes described above.

Children's privacy

The Service is intended for use by adults — parents, guardians, and caregivers — answering questions about a child in their care. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. The information you provide about your child (an age range and behavioral answers) is provided by you, the adult user, not collected from the child. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information directly, please contact us and we'll remove it.

Your choices

  • You can take a test and view a free/unlocked report without ever providing an email address.
  • You can ask us to delete a saved report or any personal information we hold about you by emailing us.
  • You can clear your cookies at any time, which will reset your anonymous visitor ID.

Data security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent changes.
